Video Septic Testing
Buying a home with its own septic system? A video inspection can identify hidden problems in the tank, pipes and fields that could cost thousands later on.
In addition to the standard home septic system testing performed during a home inspection, Connecticut Building Check, LLC offers a video inspection of the interior of your tank and pipes.
Upgrade your septic inspection to our Video Septic Inspection
We use a RIGID micro CA-300 that provides a high resolution image in real time of the interior of your systems components. It carries an on-board LED light to illuminate the way. You won't have to worry about the future of your septic system after we give it a clean bill of health.
This is the most detailed and revealing septic inspection available! We will perform the standard septic inspection and then use the RIGID micro CA-300 to view and record the front and back pipes to see potential clogging points or pipe defects.
- We check public records for septic drawing and/or information pertaining to the age and location of the existing septic system.
- We locate, uncover and access the tank(s)
- Inspect the condition of the septic tank/baffles/tees for cracks, deterioration, or missing components.
- Determine if the access covers to the septic tank meet the State of Connecticut health code requirements of not exceeding 12” below grade.
- Inspect the condition of the septic tank for structural soundness.
- Determine liquid levels and sludge depth.
- Camera the inlet and outlet pipes, if possible.
- Introduce 150 gallons of environmentally friendly water into the septic system.
- Monitor the liquid level reaction within the septic tank.
- Probe and inspect absorption area to determine location and inspect for excessive moisture, effluent, and/or odor.
- A 3-4 page typed report will be submitted (via email or fax) within 1-2 business days, unless otherwise specified.
We prefer that the septic tank not be cleaned prior to the inspection so that we may monitor the system as it normally functions; the septic tank may be cleaned after the inspection is completed. If problems are noted during the septic inspection, photos are taken to document the problem and put on file. We respect the privacy of all our clients; all information is strictly confidential to the person(s) requesting the inspection.
Connecticut Building Check, LLC provides a written report. Digital photos will be provided if a problem is detected. Video Septic Inspection is not provided unless explicitly contracted-for.
